Cherry Bomb

Creative Director and Modeling Spotlight: Elizabeth Petrulakis

Elizabeth is a vibrant creative director for the Cherry Bomb shoot and a third-year American Studies major at UC Davis. Originally drawn to VUE through her love of poetry, she transformed her inspiration into Cherry Bomb, a powerful exploration of womanhood.

Influenced by the remarkable women in her life—her mother, sister, and grandmother—Elizabeth crafts a narrative that highlights the joys and struggles of the female experience. Each piece in Cherry Bomb celebrates the resilience and beauty of womanhood, inviting viewers to reflect on the complexities of their own journeys. Through her artistry, Elizabeth captures the explosive essence of femininity.

"Cherry Bomb" is a powerful and vibrant expression of the relationships women form and experience and the unique connections all women have with the world around them. Navigating life as a woman can feel secular and almost impossible to articulate, yet it is also incredibly unifying. Elizabeth candidly shared her feelings when asked to define what it means to be a woman, saying, “What is a woman? I couldn’t fucking tell you!”

While reflecting on her mother's struggles and the sacrifices made by the women in her family, she acknowledged the weight of generational pains. “We carry their love, all the beautiful parts of who they are, and all of their pain. We’re born with both.”

This sentiment captures the essence of Cherry Bomb's grit and its special significance in Elizabeth's heart. On set, the intense atmosphere and the strong sisterhood among the models contributed perfectly to the dynamic nature of the shoot. We are thrilled that the team at VUE was able to bring Elizabeth's beautiful vision, Cherry Bomb, to life this season.
